It’s hard to believe we’re facing this challenge again, but once more, I find myself reaching out for your financial support.
Many of you remember that in the spring of 2023, Juno, my 2.5-year-old German Shepherd, underwent life-saving heart surgery. Thanks to your kindness, she recovered beautifully and was able to enjoy the start to life she deserved. But sadly, we’ve encountered yet another unexpected hurdle.
Three weeks ago, while playing with a pack of energetic pups, Juno was accidentally rammed by one of the dogs. The impact was severe, and it left her with a torn patellar tendon. Juno has always been a lively and playful dog, but this injury was completely out of her control—and now, we’re faced with yet another major hospital visit.
Juno’s orthopedic specialists have recommended surgery to repair the tendon and help her get back to living her best, active life. Without this surgery, the damage to her knee will likely lead to early-onset arthritis. Over time, the condition would not only cause her increasing pain but also limit her ability to enjoy the things she loves most. Her quality of life would diminish significantly, and she may eventually struggle to walk comfortably, especially during her favorite activities. This surgery is her best chance to avoid a future of constant discomfort and immobility, allowing her to return to being the happy, energetic dog she was before the injury.
Things are moving faster than I can fully grasp. Juno’s surgery was initially scheduled but then postponed, giving us a bit more time—time for me to seek financial support and for Juno to consider less invasive treatment options. Still, I believe surgery is ultimately the best path forward. So, once again, I find myself turning to the kindness and generosity of others to help cover the costs.
The surgery is estimated around $7,000, and unfortunately, her insurance will not cover much of the expenses. Since the day of her injury, I’ve already spent over $1,300 out of pocket for ER visits, veterinary consultations, X-rays, and medications.
I wouldn’t ask for help in this way if there were any other option. If you are able, please consider contributing to Juno's recovery. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a world of difference to us.
Please note: Any funds raised beyond our goal will go directly toward Juno’s ongoing recovery and care.
Thank you so much for your support, your kindness, and for being part of Juno’s journey.
