Help me raise money for my treatment

This is going to be difficult to post but this surgery could completely change my life so it will definitely be worth it.

All my life I’ve had health problems with emptying my bladder properly. It has caused a lot of pain and distress. When I was 16 it got so bad that I couldn’t empty it at all and it damaged my kidneys and I had to have an emergency operation and had a supra pubic catheter placed. It’s really unusual for people my age to have them as it’s usually elderly people. Younger people have stronger stomach muscles and as a result this causes me to be in pain everyday and night and every 6 weeks when I have it changed it is extremely painful.

It has been a tough journey which affected my mental health and my confidence. However, I was never diagnosed and then discharged. I tried and tried to get appointments and was determined to get diagnosed. In the end I had to go and see a private doctor, I’ve been all around England and Wales and seen a number of different urologists.

There’s a surgery which could solve my issue and I could have my catheter removed. My confidence and freedom back. It’s called a sacral neuromodulation. It is a reversible treatment that uses a small device to send electrical impulses to nerves located in the lower back. The electrical stimulation can often successfully eliminate or reduce certain bladder-control problems in some people.

The sacral nerve stimulation procedure is done in two steps, which allows your physician to test the therapy before actually implanting the permanent battery. In the first stage, the permanent lead will be implanted.

Because of my struggle with the NHS, I have been applying for funding for a long time and haven’t had any luck yet. The first step of the treatment costs £3750 and I have decided I have waited such a long time to be diagnosed and treated that I am going to have the first part of the treatment privately. It has the possibility to completely change my life and it would mean so much to me to have this test.
