K9Mo
Donation protected
Recently, retired due to a career ending injury K9 Mo (8 years old) and his handler are struggling with his diagnosis and ability to pay for treatments. After seeing a neurologist and having an MRI (very costly) it was determined that he has a bulging disc and hip dysplasia. He was also tested for Degenerative Myelopathy, Degenerative myelopathy is a progressive disease of the spinal cord in older dogs. K9 Mo is talented in explosives detection and fugitive apprehension, he is a beloved partner and friend to so many in the Community that he served. It was a great pleasure to work alongside this pair and a great loss will be felt.
Since K9 Mo was retired prior to a definitive diagnosis, all costs associated with his care are now the responsibility of his handler. He is currently being treated with medication and rest, but in a few weeks he will be reevaluated. He may need injections, physical therapy or surgery. It is the hope of his family that his quality of life in his retirement can be improved. With a little help from the friends he protected and served perhaps he can do just that.
