Joseph Kirui - Hospital Bill Assistance

This is our friend and head safari guide, Joseph, who fell ill towards the end of March 2020 with a condition that fills his lungs with fluid.
He has been in and out of hospital for the last 2 months as doctors try to work out what is wrong with him and periodically drain his lungs. He has had tests for Covid-19, influenza, TB and many others. So far the source of the issue is still a mystery. The doctors have now done so many tests and proscribed so much medicine that Joseph’s hospital bill has really racked up and his savings are running low. He is due to go in for a bone marrow biopsy this week which will add to his already substantial hospital bill of Kenya Shilling 300,000 which is roughly US$2,800 or £2,300.
With Lewa House closed due to Covid-19 travel restrictions we have had no income since mid-march and whilst we are supporting Joseph we are also trying to support our other staff which is putting us under great financial pressure. This could not have happened at a worse time for Joseph. Even when the Covid travel restrictions are lifted Joseph is so ill he is unlikely to return to work for some time. He needs all the help he can get.
We are appealing to anyone who knows Joseph to help us foot his outstanding hospital bill as well as set some aside for future treatments. We are aiming to raise US$4000 or £3,300 but if we can go over and above this it would be great.
