Jonella Salyers Cancer Treatment Expenses
Don protégé
If you stop in to Kid City Academy, a child care center serving more than 180 families in Johnson County, you'll see a smiling face at the welcome desk in the fun and colorful, highly organized front office.
The smiling face in the office is the director of the center, Jonella Salyers. She and her husband, Mitch, opened Kid City Academy in 2009 and have provided fantastic educational opportunities to countless youth. Jonella is the heart behind the organization, and is one of the strongest, smartest women I know. She is amazing in her role as she leads Kid City to provide excellent childcare, education, and enriching experiences to children in our community. Not to mention she has five beautiful children, ranging in age from 10 to 18 — Jonah, Jaynie, Jobey and twins Judah and Josee. The oldest is a senior & the twins are 4th graders.
While you can often find Jonella at Kid City Academy caring for others, she has been battling ovarian cancer for more than 3 1/2 years. She has been in remission since January but a few weeks ago was told the cancer has returned for a third time. This is heartbreaking news for her and those who love her.
But the Salyers family is strong, and they will continue to fight this disease. With the help of her medical team, they found a clinical trial in Houston, TX that has shown promise. Jonella has flown to Houston to have tests, biopsies, etc. and has been admitted to the clinical trial. We are rooting for Jonella and pray that this treatment works.
She will continue to travel to Houston for treatment and is incredibly resilient. Despite her ongoing battle with cancer, Jonella continues to be there to support others day in and day out. She is truly amazing!
Jonella and Mitch touch so many lives through Kid City Academy and their involvement in our Franklin community. I've created this fundraiser (with their blessing) to help them through this difficult time. Please give what you are able to contribute to help relieve the financial stress of Jonella's medical-related expenses.
Let's rally around the Salyers family, and cheer Jonella on in her courageous fight. Whether or not you may be able to contribute financially, please share and lift this family up in prayer. Help raise her spirits with positive thoughts, hugs and words of encouragement.
THANK YOU for your support. WE LOVE YOU, JONELLA!
