A message from Jonathon's family member:
We are devastated by the sudden passing of Jonathon, who died while on holiday overseas.
I have known Jonathon since his birth and it is a travesty that his life was cut short at 36yr.
Jonathon was a kind soul, a humble young man, and a wonderful friend to many at SIMPEC. He leaves behind his three beloved children whom he adored very much. He will be sadly missed.
This fund has been set up to help his family with the costs of bringing Jonathon home to Perth, and to support his three young children.
We extend our deepest appreciation for any donations you can give and thank you for your generosity.
Kind regards
-Paul - Jonathons Uncle
A message from Jonathon's colleague
I was Jonathon's Supervisor whilst he was on the Calix Midstream Project for SIMPEC at Pilgangoora. I may have not known Jonathon for as long as others but his good grace was not lost on me. He was a friend and mentor to those that knew him.
Jon was employed as a Crane Operator for the project. When I first met Jon, I asked what he had operated, to gauge his experience. His response being "I can operate anything!!" My first thoughts were "who is this self assured young man". After a short period of working with him, I found out that the words he spoke weren't driven by ego but backed up by intellect and talent. I tell this story as an insight for those that had not known Jon as well as they could have. He was happy, direct and said what he meant.
Jon was a pure soul that bought happiness into the most troubling situations. His actions since he joined the project have lifted and embraced everyone to a standard above and beyond. He will be remembered forever and greatly missed. My heart is with his family at this time and I am forever grateful for meeting such a talented human.
