Laura has spent her life pouring love into her family, students, community, and her wonderful husband, Jeff. From directing musicals and accompanying choral ensembles to guiding young voices and hearts, her passion and love of life echoes in every note!

LAURA'S JOURNEY

Laura's journey has not been easy. She's faced more than her fair share of adversity and hardships - suffering the loss of a child as a young mother, enduring serious financial hardships while raising her 4 kids and niece, and surviving the loss of a spouse. Yet through every trial, Laura has walked forward with quiet courage, leaning on her faith and lifting those around her.

Now happily retired with her loving husband Jeff and their pup JJ, Laura is facing a new challenge; ALS. With God, her husband, and her kids by her side she does not walk this path alone! She is surrounded by the footprints of all those who will help carry her through this journey.

We've created this GoFundMe to help Laura and Jeff with everyday expenses and care needs in the months ahead. ALS is not just a physical battle - it's an emotional and financial one too. The out-of-pocket cost for someone with ALS can be substantial, ranging from $80,000 to $250,000 per year, according to The ALS Association. These costs are not just for medical expenses, but also include items like home and vehicle modifications, travel expenses for appointments, and costs associated with hiring caregivers. The financial burden can increase as the disease progresses and requires more intensive care. Any gift, big or small, helps ease the burden and reminds Laura how deeply she is loved.
