Join Khaleah's Battle for Survival

My name is Marie Lightbourne. I am a medical doctor and the founder of, Are These Children of a Lesser God, Foundation INC. I am fundraising to help get Khaleah out of Jamaica to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Miami Florida. Khaleah has acute lymphoblastic leukemia and needs emergent medical care from a tertiary hospital to be able to survive a childhood cancer that is curable.

I have a passion for children and healthcare and I personally know what it is like to live in poverty. I grew up in rural Jamaica and escaped the quicksand of poverty by heeding my mother's words, " Labor for learning before you grow old because learning is better than silver and gold. Silver and gold will vanish away, but a good education will never decay. Heights that great men reached and kept was not attained by sudden flight; but they, while their companions slept, went toiling upward to the night." I have dedicated my life to giving back.
