Join Cash’s Journey to a Healthy Heart

Thanksgiving 2023 Savanna and Brad found out they were excepting a bundle of joy. Due to family history, their pregnancy was considered high risk. Things were going well until Savanna was 30 weeks, that's when they found out their precious son had congenital heart defects - specifically pulmonary stenosis - which is basically where the artery going from his heart to his lungs is extremely narrow, which puts stress on his little heart, and would require open heart surgery shortly after birth

July 25th, Johnny Cash Curtis arrived and stole the hearts of many. He was kept in Northside NICU for 2 weeks while cardiologist at CHOA Egleston deliberated on the best course of action. He was transferred to Egleston and stayed for 1.5 weeks for monitoring when they eventually decided he was stable enough to go home to grow and become stronger.

After weekly cardiology visits for 9 months, his cardiologist decided it was time for his open heart surgery.

May 15th, the Curtis family will hand over their beloved son to Dr. Chai so that his little heart will be repaired.

Once discharged from the 2 - 3 week hospital stay, the family will focus on recovery and healing. Unfortunately during this time they will go almost 2 months without any income.
