John D’Urso medical and recovery expenses

Our brother John who lives in FL was in a serious motorcycle accident on Sunday June 13th which resulted in severe spinal cord injury. He suffered fractures of his T9, T10, and T11. In addition he also has a T12 Burst Fracture. resulting in paraplegia.

At this time, John has no feeling from his waist down to his upper thigh area, and cannot walk. The doctors are hopeful he will eventually gain mobility but cannot say how much. His road to recovery will be long and hard. He has no family down there near him and we are working hard to help him. Becky and I just returned from seeing him and he is fighting as hard as he can.

We’re asking for help on John’s behalf. This is a bit overwhelming as our brother has no insurance and has mounting medical bills that will continue to grow for months! Without medical insurance getting him to rehab is difficult. The longer he goes without intense therapy, the less chances he has of recovering his mobility.

We are trying to raise funds to "self-pay" for physical therapy as it's the only option right now. This can be pricey, but we feel with 3 weeks to a month of intense physical therapy, John will be able to function independently.

John could use any assistance available to help toward his future care. If you know John, you know he’s funny, sarcastic, and can be a PIA, etc, but also is a friend to many! If you know him and would like to donate, please know that all donations will go towards getting him a bed in a rehab facility and helping with his future medical needs.
