We reached and surpassed the target - thank you to all of you for your generosity. John would be delighted to know so many people love him.
As many of you know, John passed in the early hours of Monday 23rd September.
There will be a private cremation attended only by the committing Clergy in Broadstairs, followed by a memorial service to celebrate his life in London. The date and arrangements for the memorial will be circulated to everyone as many of you will want to celebrate his life.
Few of us have known someone who was so full of life, and this is how he wants to be remembered.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to the dogs fund. It is still open for anyone who would like to contribute.

Dear Friends of John / Doxy,
Update: When we set this up we thought John might recover, but on Friday he was moved to Hospice, and sadly is now very close to the end. He has friends with him today, and is comfortable and peaceful. We wanted to let you know that once the dogs are looked after, any balance of money will be used for funeral expenses.
We are raising money to support John's beloved dogs. While John has been in hospital they have been looked after in kennels, and consequently some very large bills have been run up, especially at the vets!
John has helped so many people over the last nearly 30 years, giving them a place to stay, driving them to endless meetings, giving cash where needed and of course looking after all of our dogs. He has never asked for anything so this is a great opportunity to help him in return.
It would give him great peace of mind to know that his darling dogs are being cared for and not to have to worry about facing the huge bills when he is finally able to get home.
Please give whatever you can, but don't worry if you can't.
Feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
Thank you in John's name
