Help for John Burtis

I have created this account to seek help for my dear friend, John Burtis.  John is currently undergoing treatment for several types of cancer.   He had a successful surgery on March 20th to remove one form of cancer in his intestines but results of pathology have lead to a need for chemotherapy.  He will be undergoing a second surgery on Tuesday, April 17th to remove a potential second type of cancer in his kidney.  He will begin chemotherapy treatments in about 4 weeks that will continue for approximately 6 months.

John is undergoing treatment at M.D. Anderson in Houston and is receiving great care while there, but travel and missed work has put a strain on him financially and the hospital bills are beginning to add up quickly along with his copays and deductible.

I am hoping to raise enough funds to cover: 1) any out of pocket expenses for his medical bills; 2) travel expenses including hotel for a few overnight stays that have been required and will be needed over the next year for treatment; 3) some of his household bills while he is out of work during any periods of time where he may not receive a full paycheck.

Many of you know John and what a truly kind, caring and generous person he is!  He is a dad to 3 girls who are the light of his life - Emily (in college) and Morgan (in high school)  and his oldest daughter, Rebekah who coaches soccer, works at a church coffee ministry and helps with leading worship.

John would be the first person to assist someone in need.  His first thought is for service to others.  Please join me in helping John so that he can fully concentrate on healing and recovery!
