Hello family & friends, Last Thursday (11/17) John let us know that he had fallen and couldn't get up. We called an ambulance and he was brought in and released the Friday morning with influenza. He declined and we brought him back to the ER Saturday morning. They admitted right away and discovered he had double pneumonia. Even with supplemental oxygen he was not getting enough and the doctors recommended intubation to us and John which we all agreed would give him the best chance to recover. Sunday night they intubated him and airlifted him to Mayo where he would receive 24/7 care. We will provide updates as we get them here - please do not call the hospital as they were receiving a high volume of calls for John which requires a nurse's time and we were not able to get through to his nurses the first day at Mayo due to this.
