Hi everyone, my name is Trevor Barnhill I’ve been friends with Joel Berryhill since he was 18 and while he struggled with stomach problems and issues. His diverticulitis recently landed him back into the ER. His possible surgeon has said his daily stay so far is upwards of 6000 a day anything we can do to for him would greatly help him out……..Here’s his story in his own words……..Ive had stomach issues since Ive been 19. In 2019 I had stomach pain that got so bad that I had to take a trip to the ER. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Since then I’ve had one or two small flare ups that cleared themselves up pretty quickly and easily. It’s been almost 5 years, but on Monday I noticed a faint gut pain that got progressively worse throughout the day, and when I woke up Tuesday the pain was way worse. Wednesday the pain was in full force. On Thursday I could barely stand or walk. Kara made me get it check out again, I have no health insurance. I knew it was the same issue as before but the hospital had to check out everything to make sure. It turns out it was the same thing, just worse. My lower intestine had gotten so swollen and had actually popped small holes that were leaking gas and into my stomach cavity. I’ve been on no food since about Tuesday, and no food or drinks since yesterday at about 5pm. I am getting better. I just got approved to consume clear liquids. They’ve been mentioning surgery since I was at urgent care and to be honest I’ve been terrified of what this was going to cost me financially. Just got to talk to a surgeon and he said I won’t be needing an operation. Thank god. I wouldn’t wish this pain on my worst enemy. Thanks for everyone who’s checked on me.
