Hi all,

This may be one of the hardest things I’ve had to do and I want to start by saying this is very uncomfortable to have to do. I am creating this for my mom and dad. 2020 and COVID have caused difficulties for so many families and unfortunately we are one of them.

A little background:

My moms position was eliminated due to COVID in May. This completely rocked her world and watching her struggle and find her new normal was incredibly difficult. I graduated in May with my Masters and it has taken a long and hard 6 months for me to finally find a job (I will be starting my new job on the 23rd). Fortunately, my dad was able to continue to work while following/taking all precautions possible.

COVID hit our family at the end of October. I’m thankful to be able to say my mom and brother have since fully recovered.

My dad is now fighting for his life. Those are words I never wanted to have to put in a sentence. All updates on his journey can be found on CaringBridge (https://caringbridge.org/visit/jimfrazier4
Site Name: jimfrazier4). I update the page daily.

I know my dad (and mom) have SO many people who love them and want to help. For the past few weeks we have been at a loss as to what to say every time someone asks what they can do to help. A few of my dad’s coworkers encouraged starting this page. Due to COVID restrictions we still cannot be at the hospital with him so the most we can do is call regularly to check in. I would do absolutely anything to be able to hug my dad or even just hear his voice. He is the strongest person I know. Our house is entirely too quiet and empty without him home with us.

I struggle to find the words to explain how incredibly hard this has been. I don’t know how to ask for help but I want to do anything I possibly can to help my mom and dad in this time.

*Please note that I truly wanted to leave the “goal amount” blank because there is truly no way to know what expenses may arise. However, I was forced to enter an amount.

Also, please know that if you choose to donate the money will be going towards my dad’s medical expenses and expenses his work will no longer cover due to him not working -my mom now has to pay his health benefits and car allowance (that was previously paid for by his work) out of pocket.

With love,
Makala
