On Thursday, Stella and her family suffered an immeasurable loss.  As many of you might have heard or know about the tragic accident involving a 65 year-old woman who was fatally struck by a tour bus on Mahukona and Kona streets on her birthday.  That was Jenny Hu or Jui-Ching Hu, Stella's mother.  

Jenny left behind her husband and two daughters, Stella & Serena. Sadly, both girls no longer live in Hawaii and are now trying their hardest to get back home as soon as possible to be with their father.

I am trying to raise some money to help cover any of the unforeseen costs of obtaining legal aid, Jenny's funeral and any financial assistance to Stella and her family. 

On a personal note, Stella is one of my closest friends and someone I've known almost my entire life. I've known her and her family since I was a toddler because her grandma would babysit me.  

I was with her when she tried to call her mom. When she didn't answer Stella called her dad. Eventually speaking directly to the medical examiner's office only to find out about the accident. She never even got to say Happy Birthday.  No one should have to carry that kind of regret and guilt.

She has always been a fierce friend and someone you want in your corner.  And I would do anything to help her, and I'm sure many of you feel the same. I can't imagine the hurt she is feeling and the pain her father & sister are going through.  

We often do not know how to help or what to do... prayers and possibly this campaign will be a blessing during this difficult time.
