Volunteering in South Africa

Hi, my name is Shóna, and for the month of July 2024 I will be volunteering in South Africa. Volunteering has always been a dream of mine and 2024 is the year I finally do it.

I will volunteer as a teacher in Muizenberg to provide quality education to students in overcrowded schools. I will travel with International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) who have been empowering volunteers to make a difference since 2007. I will gain teaching experience assisting local teachers and working with students in entry-level classes. Schools in low-income communities often have too few teachers and there is little chance for students to get individual attention, so we as volunteers provide valuable help creating an all-round better learning environment.

Any funds raised will go towards the IVHQ volunteering programme fees, vaccinations and any resources needed to provide quality education to the children in Muizenbourg. Thank you so much for your support!
