Jessica's Cancer Treatment - Medical Costs

Dear Prayer Warriors, Family and Friends,

Jessica Donatone is a beloved friend, sister, daughter, wife, awesome Mom, personal trainer, athlete, health advocate, and a disciple of Christ. As most of you know Jessica has been in an unbelievable battle against cancer for years now. It actually started with a tumor, pheochromocytoma, on her adrenal gland in 2014. It was removed surgically and determined to be benign. But about two years ago, it returned in her hip. She also had that removed surgically and they thought they had it all. Within a few months time, the doctors found that it had moved to other areas of her body. This is VERY rare, it is rare for the tumors to return, it is even more rare that they would be malignant and rarest of the rare to spread as it has done nearly all over her body. She has been fighting back with surgery, radiation, chemo, alternative treaments, and she was already in amazing shape with an extremely healthy lifestyle. The tumors are in her bones and have progressed to her liver and lungs. She is still fighting. All of the medical trials for her type of cancer were closed. They were able to get a trial drug but had to pay cash. It was $28,000 a month. She has been on it for almost 3 months. Now she has been in the hospital for the past two weeks. She needed surgery again for tumors on her spine and a fractured T-9. She has been intubated so they could slowly bring her out of sedation from the surgery. We are praying she wakes with stronger breathing and less pain. They are planning to try another round of chemo as she recovers. But again the cost of that is not covered by insurance and will again be out of pocket.

I know we are all praying and please continue to pray that the Lord will heal her as only he can. Sometimes, we feel helpless. We pray and what I would ask now is that we give. With everything they have been through - knowing they have a little help financially with all of the medical treatments, surgeries, hospital stays and several medications will bring some comfort and keep their focus on the fight against this brutal cancer.
