Loving Support for Jess and Natalie

THERE IS A REAL NEED IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY YOU MIGHT WANT TO BE AWARE OF:
As friends of Jessica and Natalie. we know how difficult this year has been with Natalie's four surgeries and Jess' sudden massive subdural hematoma, brain surgery, and seizures that prevent her from driving for 3-6 months. They have been there for each other with such love through it all, as they have been there for all their friends and sponsees in various programs for decades.  It has been inspiring for all of us.

Now, it appears the health challenges are to continue well into 2015. Natalie was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had a bilateral lumpectomy Dec 1st, but the tumors are so aggressive that the team of doctors are recommending immediate chemotherapy for four months, then a bilateral mastectomy in May, then daily radiation for six weeks (June-July). 

All this has made it difficult for either of them to work much to generate enough income to supplement their Social Security. They have been trying to do some work all along, but we do know their savings have been drained.  Their goal for the next year is to get healthy,  get working again, keep their apartment, and continue to support others in their communities.  They can and they will - they are bright, talented, and giving people.

Something needs to be done. They will need help to carry them through several months of continuing medical issues and limitations and then to get back on their feet with their work.  We know they find it hard to admit they need help and impossible to ask for it, so we do it for them.  Maybe together -anonymously or otherwise - we can give them some joy and alleviation of their fears as they go into the holidays and into a new and hopeful year.
