Jerry Cosker Memorial Fund

 

It was with great sadness we learned that Jerry Cosker passed away suddenly on Monday, August 14, 2017.  Jerry was the owner of the Sir Walter Raleigh Inn of College Park, Maryland.

 

We are setting up this Fund to raise money to help his family with the cost of the funeral and other upcoming expenses. Jerry is survived by Ronnie, his loving wife of 37 years, and his two beloved children – Brian (Amy) and Kathleen. He is also survived by his wonderful granddaughter Chloe.

Jerry was a long time member of the Rotary Club of College Park, Maryland. He hosted many of their dinners and fundraisers at the Raleigh.  He was also a big supporter of the University of Maryland Athletics Department and their Alumni Associations. Many Terrapin teams held their pre-and post-game meals at the restaurant. He loved interacting with the players, coaches and fans.

 

There is not a person who knew Jerry who did not like him. He was one of the warmest, friendliest, and most generous people you could ever hope to meet. His laugh was infectious.  Many of us enjoyed celebrating family reunions, birthdays, and other special occasions at the Raleigh with Jerry as our host. He took great pride in making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. 

 

This is an incredibly sad time for all of us who knew and loved Jerry. He will be greatly missed.  Any contribution to reach our goal of $25,000 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
