Jennifer Thompson's Recovery Fund

As some of you may know, Jen has been battling complications from endometriosis for most of her life. Unfortunately, these complications have become so severe that they now require extensive surgical intervention to correct. Jen had a surgery in December 2021 to alleviate symptoms and hopefully improve her quality of life. However, that surgery revealed a much worse scenario which would lead to the decision/need to have a hysterectomy and bowel resection.
While preparing for this surgery Jen underwent pre-op testing which threw yet another curve ball at her: a previously unknown issue with one of her kidneys, making it necessary for Jen to have this kidney removed. (I refuse to say the C word). That being said, she will need ample time to rest and fully recover after her hospital stay and to proceed with treatment recommendations going forward. No one is tougher than Jen is, and we know she will get through this!
Those of us who work with Jen know that she is one of the hardest working and most selfless people you will ever meet. She has been in healthcare for almost twenty years, the last five of which have been dedicated to working the overnight shift in the Intensive Care Units. Jen never fails to go above and beyond in the exceptional care she provides for her patients. She is also an incredibly supportive member of the ICU team!
Jen is the first person to step forward and plan parties to celebrate birthdays and other life events. She is always there for friends, her family, or even coworkers. Jen makes many sacrifices to make sure those around her have what they need. She is dedicated and loyal through and through.
We are organizing this GoFundMe to lessen the burden of Jen’s medical bills and help support Jen and her family during her recovery. As we all know Jen is very stoic, stubborn, private, and can be quite the pain in the ass that never wants help (she’s our pain in the ass <3). She is hesitate to allow this GoFundMe, but we all love her and it’s time she receives the best support possible from all of us.
Please support Jen as she focuses on her own healing from health issues that have affected her for the majority of her life and will require her to be on medical leave for the next 2-3 months. Let’s show her our support and how much we love her (because she doesn’t want me trying to bake or cook anything for her, it’s a fire hazard). Love you Jen!!!
