Jennie's Journey - Help Her Beat Cancer!

October 30, 2019 everything changed for a beautiful wife, loving husband and four young children when they found out that their mom has a large, cancerous tumor in the middle of her brain. Watching helplessly as someone close to you fights for their life is the most agonizing heartbreak we have ever felt. After a series of tests, consultations, and prayers, Jennie and her husband Jared made the decision to proceed with a high-risk surgery to attempt to remove the tumor. The cancerous brain tumor was entwined in a critical area of the brain with perforating vessels. A modern-day miracle took place as the surgeon’s hands were guided by our Heavenly Father and he believes that he was able to remove almost 100% of the glioblastoma tumor leaving Jennie neurologically intact. The success of Jennie’s surgery is one that is not typically seen.
Just when everything seemed to be headed in the right direction, Jennie took a turn for the worse this morning. On her way for an MRI, she stopped breathing. The medical team jumped into action and was able to stabilize her quickly and get her back into the operating room. They removed a portion of bone from her skull to alleviate pressure on her brain and allow for swelling . In another miracle, we’ve just received word from Jared that she’s off the ventilation tube and she’s communicating and moving her arms and legs.
Jennie’s need for miracles continues. Her battle is not over as she struggles to recover from this extremely difficult surgery. Jennie, Jared, and their family need our support as she recovers and fights through chemotherapy and radiation. There are many ways we can rally around the incredible Spicer family: prayers, fasting, dedicated meditation, love, and financial support.
Anyone who knows Jennie knows how loved she makes everyone around her feel. Through her pain she has born testimony of the power of prayer and of the impact of love. She is a light in the darkness and shown us that we all have hope in our darkest moments, not to avoid pain, but to endure it and manifest the power of Heavenly Father through love.
Donations will be used to support the family with the cost of medical care, travel expenses, child care, and any other way the Spicers need assistance.
