Help Jen repay the cost of surgery
Donation protected
Hey there, my name is Jen, and I'm a trans woman living in Ireland and doing my PhD in Applied Psychology.
Back in May 2022, I had a trans-related surgery. Unfortunately, this healthcare was not available in Ireland, and not covered by public funding, forcing me to go abroad to a private provider. Because of this, I had to take out a substantial loan (€14k). It was the best decision of my life, and I cannot describe how much of a positive difference it's made in my life. I'm finally beginning to understand how it feels not to feel imprisoned by my own body, and it's the most incredible experience. It's terrible that this healthcare isn't provided to us through our health system, but you just have to do what you can to get through. In December I had another trans-related surgery, which meant I lost out on a couple of months of usual work that I would do, and set me back even further financially.
I set this up in case anyone wants to help us to clear it - Any donation, no matter how small, will go a long way. Every donation will go directly towards repaying the loan and what has been payed out of pocket already.
