Jen Ndegwa's Medical Needs
Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Ndegwa. I am a wife and a mother of 2 little boys. I lived in Kenya for the past 11 years, where I met my husband. We recently relocated back to the US just before Covid hit, and have been adjusting to our new lives through vast roller-coasters.
I am a middle school math teacher. Just before school started, I found out I have breast cancer and will have to undergo surgery on Sept 17th. My insurance policy with my new job will only cover my expenses after I have paid a deductible of $7,000 in-network, or $20,000 out-of-network. There are other fees that are not included in this deductible. However, this was the best plan I could get. This deductible will be met entirely by my first surgery, but we do not have that money.
It is EXTREMELY out of my comfort zone to be fundraising for my medical needs, but I came to the realization that I have nothing to lose by asking. Therefore, I have made the amount for $10,000 because I honestly have no idea what the total expenses will be that we will face. Our 4-member family is living off of my teaching salary because my husband's paperwork to legally work in the USA has not come through yet. So, our budget is very tight. However, we trust that God will meet our needs in whatever way He sees fit. We just thought this might be one way He wants us to try. Thank you!
