JEDDAH WOOD to the WORLD NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIPS

Donation protected
We are doing this fundraising campaign to get this talented rising star in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the World No-Gi championships in Anaheim, California. Dates are December 7-11.

My name is Jeddah Wood. I’m a light juvenile blue belt Jiu-Jitsu
competitor. My first goal is to win the IBJJF no-gi world championships at blue belt lightweight. I intend to accomplish this by making sacrifices, doing the hard work, and forging myself into a complete grappler.
I’ve been training since I was nine years old. As far back as I can remember, Jiu-Jitsu has been a primary focus in my life. I’m proud of my success in the Kid’s division, but now that I’m older, I want to take things to the next level.
I live in Penticton, B.C., with my father, stepmother, and older brother. We are about four hours east of Vancouver. It can be a real challenge to try to train at an international level while living in a small town in Canada. It has been hard to find the coaching, the training partners and the competition that I need to stay sharp and move forward. I feel like I now have all of this in place, and I don’t think anything will stop me.

I changed coaches in the spring of 2020 and started training with Erik Lund as a full-time private student. His wife Stephanie, a light-weight brown belt and Masters world champ, is my leading training partner. We are currently training between ten to twelve hours per week.
It was hard to sit out of competitions for so long during COVID. During that time, I channelled my frustration into training and getting ready for the day that things would open back up. I also realized that no-gi is my passion, and I will do everything I can to make myself the best no-gi grappler.
Now that competitions are back, I feel a new motivation and love for the sport. I competed in my first adult tournament on July 16, 2022. I won gold in my division with a rear naked choke in the final. Two weeks later I won gold at the CBJJF Provincial championships in both my division and absolute.

I am very fortunate to have the support of my family, who have made significant sacrifices toward my success in the sport. I have also contributed by working in the summers and part-time during school.
Outside of jiu-jitsu, I focus on my education and playing the classical violin. I have maintained a 4.0-grade point average since grade seven. This summer, I took and successfully passed the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 6 Examination on my violin.
Upcoming Competitions
I am currently focussing my training on the: IBJJF No-Gi Championship on December 7th, 2022, in Anaheim, CA. I would very much like to compete in the ADCC tournaments, but I have to be selective about what is realistic. I also plan to continue to participate in all local tournaments.

Any donations are gratefully accepted and will go towards the flights, accommodation and living expenses while

Penticton teen cobblers competition in Anehiam during the tournament week.
