Jeannine Leeds: Inflammatory Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Welcome to the Go Fund Me page for Jeannine Leeds! On April 7, 2022, my mom was diagnosed with Triple Negative Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC). IBC is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that accounts for only 1% to 5% of all breast cancers. This cancer grows and forms in weeks rather than months! Its symptoms, outlook, and treatment are different from any other breast cancer. IBC often does not cause a lump and is usually not seen in mammograms, making this cancer very difficult to diagnose. IBC is always at a locally advanced stage when it's first diagnosed because the cells have grown into the skin. This means it's always at least a Stage III when it's diagnosed. We remain hopeful that the doctors can treat this cancer, and we are grateful for the tremendous support she has already received from family and friends.
We have been very fortunate to work with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston in collaboration with Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville to provide a thorough and aggressive treatment plan. Because this cancer is so rare and aggressive, many medical professionals are unaware of IBC and how to develop the best treatment plan. These funds will be used for travel and medical expenses. We would like to welcome you to donate to this cause if you feel led, commit to praying for Jeannine, the doctors, and our family, or even SHARE this fundraiser so more people are aware. ALL three of these efforts are important and highly valued!
