My sister suddenly lost her husband and best friend on Thursday night. Their struggle for the last year has been unimaginable.
Eric was a wonderful and dedicated Father to his two children – Amanda and Sean – who always came first. When he met my sister Cindy he took care of her and they became a blended family of 4 with Cindy’s 2 children – Jessica and Casey. It was easy to welcome him into our family with open arms, and if any of us ever needed anything he was there in a minute – no questions asked.
Eric had a tough upbringing. His father passed when he was only 19 years old. He was the oldest of 4 boys and instantly became the man of the house. He and his brothers became very close and to this day were best friends. Eric was a strong man with good values. A family man who had many friends who loved to be around him. He was so kind, loved by his nieces and nephews, and made everyone around him feel at ease.
In the last year life has become very challenging. He lost his job of 29 years. His Mother unexpectedly passed away. He supported his stepdaughter through many personal issues and took on raising his infant grandson from day 1. If the stress that he and Cindy endured was not already enough, then the COVID pandemic hit.
Now Cindy is left grieving her husband and best friend, while handling the aftermath of these challenges while raising an 18-month-old baby. Cindy is the sweetest most selfless person in the world. Everything that has happened to her is not fair. She is so loving and probably the nicest sister of the 3 of us, but luck is not on her side. She is left with a critical financial burden and I would never ask for help in this way… but if anyone deserves the help it is Cindy and Jaylen. Eric would want that the most. Thank you and God bless.
