Jasha is my mom's shadow; anyplace you can find my mom, you will find Jasha. Jasha is only seven years old. She was healthy, energetic, and very talkative. But in just two days, her health took a drastic turn for the worse. Overnight, the energetic cat we knew was left breathless in my mother's arms, hyperventilating and gasping for air. We rushed her to the ER. After much testing, we discovered Jasha was struggling with a condition my mother is all too familiar with: heart failure.
Two years prior, my mom suffered from the same condition, so seeing Jasha in the ICU panting and crying, she knew her beloved friend's pain all too well. Jasha is currently in stable condition, dependent on oxygen. My mom wants to touch her and love her once more. Jasha is taking medicine to help remove fluids from her heart and lungs. The medicine must be administered slowly as cats' kidneys are very delicate, and we need to prevent kidney failure. Each day in the ICU costs us 1,000 USD. My mother is 73 and on a fixed income. Please, any donation would help us.
