Jaime & Drama dog becoming desperate
Don protégé
Hi, my name is Jaime and I’m trying to not lose my house. I’ve never been ‘well-off’ financially, but also not so stretched thin. I am a single, Pittie mom, and 47 years old.
2021-2023 I had 4 surgeries, 2 wrists and 2 elbows. At the time of the last elbow I had 2 jobs, therefore 2 short term disability claims. I didn’t realize those weekly checks weren’t taxed, so early 2024 I was in for a huge surprise. I ended up owing GA over $600 and the IRS over $1000.
Early 2023 I had a major plumbing obstacle that cost around $3000. I had to take a 401k loan to pay for that.
Mid 2023 it was time for a new roof. The roof on the house I purchased in 2017 was not insured because no one knew how old it was…so if anything happened to it, I was screwed. No, I didn’t have $30,000+ to spend on anything, so having to finance was my only option. The payment wasn’t a struggle at first, because I had the second job. But I was killing myself, literally. I worked my regular job 7-330p M-F and the second job Fri, Sat, and Sun nights 9:30p-6a. The second job lasted 10 months. My full time job pays every 2 weeks, which is generally around $1100 twice a month.
My current bills:
Mortgage: $1060
Power: $60-$120
Water: $20
Internet: $65
Cell phone: $100
AquaGuard: $130
Roof: $352
Fuel: $70
Student loan: $127
=$2004
+Car insurance: $954/6 months
+Food
+Medications/MD visits/Dental
The only thing I do for myself is tan (from approx. Feb/Mar until Oct) $43/mo.
I haven’t been on vacation in 20+ years. I haven’t had nails since college. I’ve never had a pedicure. I get my hair cut about every 6 months.
Ideally I would love to raise enough money to make a large payment to the roof financer to minimize the finance charges.
Mid June 2024 my 2006 Civic died while at work and had to be towed to car shop. It needed new coils and oil change + towing cost $602
6/20/24 Struts, shocks, tires, and serpentine belt cost $1608
Early July 2024 Brakes and rotors $500ish
(Brakes were last changed in Dec 2019)
7/11/24: Need a periodontal surgery to get out infection, estimate $3500, insurance pays $500. I can’t catch a break!
I have applied for part time job(s), most of which pay around $12/hr.
This stresses my mind 24/7.
Please help if you are able and willing. We thank you so very much.
Funds will be used toward outstanding balances and current bills listed above.
