Jack's Urgent Surgery Canine Osteosarcoma

Hello, my name is Myrah Villarreal and this GoFundMe is in support of my dog Jack. Jack is a Pit/Lab mix who is 8 years old and is considered like my child. Jack was the only puppy left in his litter; something about him compelled me to keep him. He's been with me since my early 20s and has been an emotional support buddy for me as I deal with anxiety and depression. He can sense my emotions immediately and will snuggle with me.

Last October, Jack started limping. When I took him to the vet, it was described that dogs his size sometimes suffer hip injuries, and medication was prescribed. Unfortunately, the limping never stopped, and eventually, his paw began to swell and is currently the size of a softball. With a recent visit to Estero's Emergency Hospital this past Friday, it was determined that Jack has cancer. The swelling is due to Jack's ankle bone being completely gone due to the cancer. The visit included x-rays, medication, the deposit for the surgery, and the emergency visit fee, which totaled $1560, which I paid upfront. We now have a scheduled appointment on Tuesday with the surgeon who will determine how far the amputation will go. I'm emotional writing this because I couldn't imagine someone in my position who loves their dog just as much as I love Jack and not being able to get the proper medical care that is needed.
