Jace's Radiation Treatment
Donation protected
Jace is the 8 year old son of Doug and Cheryl Mehling. He is one of a set of triplets and his sisters are Addison and Emma. Jace had emergency brain surgery on September 11, 2016 for a benign brain tumor. The surgery was, for the most part, successful however the doctor was unable to remove all of Jace’s tumor.
In March 2017, Jace started experiencing problems again and had to have another brain surgery to relieve the pressure from fluid that had built up in his brain. The doctor tried to remove more of the tumor but was still unable to get it all.
Jace is now facing 6 weeks of radiation, 5 days each week, at Northwestern Medicine Chicago Proton Center in Chicago, Illinois to hopefully get rid of what is left of the tumor. Jace and his mother Cheryl will be going up to Chicago on Mondays and coming home on Fridays via a private plane that someone has so graciously offered. His treatment is set to begin on June 1st. During this time, Cheryl will be unable to work, medical bills will continue to accumulate and expenses will surely add up during their stay.
We graciously ask for your support in making these coming weeks a little less stressful for their family. Our hope is that this will reduce their burden and allow them to concentrate on Jace and his upcoming treatment. Please consider making a donation today and most importantly keep their family in your prayers!!
