Help Dean

Dean is born premature with 27 weeks. Because of his early birth his lungs weren't developed and the medical team wasn't in place so Dean suffered two bleedings in the brain as a result .

Dean has bilateral spastic cerebral paresis GMFCS IIII. He had a derotational and varus osteonomy of the femur and a adductor tenotomy in 2008.

In 2014 Dean was operated again. They did a subtalair arthrodesis according to Fullford on both sides, lengthening of the medial hamstrings and 8 plates on both sides of the patella on the anterior distal femur. Plus plaster afterwards. Dean suffered much from this operation and is since reluctant for surgery.

Dean has been given since he was two years old yearly, Botox injections into the adductor muscles and the hamstring muscles along with physiotherapy and orthosis. As Dean has been growing in length and weight it has been more and more difficult to stretching and coping with the orthosis.

Dean developed severe contractures, pain and increased tone in his upper and lower extremities. He also has scoliosis as a result of this. SPML is minimally invasive surgery with minimal to no down time which has excellent physical and functional outcomes in children. the Doctor whom performs this (Dr.Nuzzo) is in the U.S. and the family (we) have to find their own funding to pay for this procedure.

We hope to get Dean to the U.S with your support as it will benefit Dean enormously. Thank you so much and I will keep you up to date!!

My mother ( Deans grandmother), will collect the funding and guard this. Thank you all!
