I was a Division I soccer player, recruited by a well-known team in a big-name conference; but I didn't fit in socially and was excluded almost immediately.  To make a long, painful story short... I left the team to protect my emotional well-being; but, stayed at the school for the academics.  Today, I am finally leaving the school and will not return here, ever.  Today, I turn the corner.  I need a "gap semester" and have committed to volunteer overseas with Volunteer International HQ.  The first leg of my trip is to Laos, where I will teach English and math to elementary-age school kids (TEACH).  My second leg is to Fiji, where I will help start a sea turtle conservation program (SAVE); and my third leg will be to Morocco, where I will engage communities through sports development (JUGGLE).  I still love soccer and because I am the reigning national soccer juggling champ (12,955 soccer juggles set in Frisco, Texas at the ECNL showcase, sponsored by the National Guard), I plan to use soccer to break barriers, facilitate communications, and make global friends.  Please consider supporting my overseas adventure and personal journey to recharge, rejuvenate, and reevaluate life as I thought I knew it.
