Istanbul International Bughouse Open 2022

Hello everyone! My name is Marc Nassar, a longtime promoter of chess variants, especially bughouse chess. I have always been in love with the swashbuckling nature of bughouse chess and the team element of this game. Since I was introduced to bughouse, I felt it was rather surprising that the game had not garnered more serious attention, even though the number of chess players who have played this variant is staggeringly high. Therefore, I sought to “be the change you want to see” and am looking forward to hosting the first serious over-the-board bughouse tournament in the world. I need your support to host this event as we have many expenses to cover, including a $1000 prize fund. The travel fare of the arbiters, the free accommodation granted to bughouse players with a 2600+ rating, as well as the hotel’s hall rent will total about five thousand dollars. Of course, I will provide a detailed breakdown of the event’s costs after the event has finished so that you can be certain that your money was well-spent.
