Isaiah Zimmer

Isaiah Zimmer is 3 years old. He is the son of Courtney (Liegel) and Justin Zimmer. The week before Christmas 2018 he was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in his left eye, cancer of the eye. The only treatment for this, because it is confined to the eye, is to remove the eye. No chemo or radiation is needed because the tumor is localized to the eye.

Isaiah had his left eye removed Christmas week. He was released from the hospital and is home.  He will have patch on his eye with his eyelid sewn shut for 4 days. His eyelid will stay sewn shut for about 8 weeks. After that, he will be get his prosthetic eye. He still has a long road ahead of him but at least the cancer is gone.
