Irene Trapani Medical Bills

Late September Mrs. Irene Trapani went in for a simple surgery to remove a hernia.  During the surgery they found another one the size of a softball.  What she had hoped would be an in and out surgery with only 2 days out of work turned into and additional week.   She was released to come back and teach but something didn’t seem right.  She was in constant pain and it limited the amount of time she could work.  By the end of the week she was in so much pain that the following Monday she called for an early follow-up.   They got her in the next day and sent her straight back to the hospital.   They ran several tests and found an infection in her colon.  Fortunately, Mrs. Trapani had two weeks of vacation but that still left one week off unpaid.  The bigger problem, however, is the additional doctor/hospital bills totalling over $14,000 that she and her husband had not budgeted for.
