Dorje Powerlifting fund Euros 23 and Worlds 24

My name is Dorje Weston, I’m 16 years old and I’ve been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2023 IPF European Junior Powerlifting Championships in Budapest in October. I am hoping to continue my training and represent Great Britain again in the World Championships in Malta 2024. Representing my country doing something I love is a dream, and achieving a Gold medal for my country on Bench in September at Worlds was incredible, but with the sport being self funded I need your help to continue.

While training, I achieved good grades in my GCSE's that have enabled me to go on to study A'levels in Chemistry, Biology and Physics and I also have a Saturday job so I can begin to save towards my training too.

Powerlifting was always something I wanted to do, and after winning my first local competition, I realised that with the right training and commitment I could aim higher.

I want to be an inspiration to my young nephew and niece (who live with us and my parents care for full time) and show them that they can achieve anything if they work hard and try their best. What better way to be a role model for them than by representing my country and bringing home a medal?

So far I have won a Gold medal in Bench Press and have broken the UK bench press records twice and I am the current record holder.

My parents are supportive of my ambitions and I've had support in donations from friends and family and from EJ Gilberts and HB9 foundation, but the costs will continue to rise. This is why I am asking for your help to raise money to continue to represent our country.
