Indio Baseball Gil Salcedo Memorial Scholarship

Hello, my name is Travis Tomsen. I am the Assistant Coach for the Indio High School Varsity Baseball Team. This year one of our seniors, Gil Salcedo, lost his father Gil Salcedo Sr. just before our season started. It was a big loss for our team, but even more for the Salcedo family.

Gil was a big part of our team and set a good example of what a leader looks like.

I am starting this scholarship fund in memory of his late father in order to provide some financial assistance to Gil and his family as he continues his baseball career after he graduates. Gil will be the first recipient of the scholarship and I hope to make it an Indio baseball tradition and award it to the player who shows true integrity and leadership for our program. Gil and his family do not know that this scholarship exists, and I am reaching out to the Indio community for help.
