Independence for my granddaughter with Autism

I am hoping others may join me in my pledge to support my granddaughter’s independence.  Crystal is 29 years old and just moved into her own small basement suite.  She is diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and Anxiety. The autism alone is very handicapping for her. This is particularly manifested in social situations which ultimately affects looking for a job and being successful with work. Her story has both pride and shame, the most recent having graduated from ACAD two years ago with a degree in Art Design, but unable to find employment since.  She shows courage and determination towards self-reliance. Her work as a part-time cleaner to make ends meet was interrupted by the recent pandemic. The basement suite she now occupies has little furniture and scant storage space. 

Her parents are supportive but can’t bare much if any financial responsibility since they themselves have income at the poverty line. 

Crystal, is hoping to buy furniture for her new digs.  Items like a micro-wave, couch, mattress, dishes and stocking the cupboards with some staple.  She lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  The reason I mention this is because she will accept offers for employment in her field and/or donations of household furnishings she needs.

Helping Crystal achieve her goal would give her an experience  of  others caring and making her life matter.
