In Tribute to Kelly Smiley

With the heaviest of broken hearts, we reach out to those touched by Kelly's passion-filled and vibrant life - our dear friend, teacher, student, wife, mother, sister, and daughter was tragically lost on November 17, 2022. Kelly developed a very rare type of pneumonia called staphylococcus aureus necrotizing pneumonia that took hold when her immune system was down from influenza and moved rapidly through her body. Although nothing will ever temper this tremendous loss, we want to reach out to those wishing to support Kelly's family's sudden financial impact. This fund will go directly towards immense medical expenses and the immediate needs of Kurt and Kelly's family.

Kelly led a life of truth and light, vulnerability and strength, power and grace. As an incredibly talented performer and the founder of Tahoe Flow Arts Studio she opened the eyes of hundreds, if not thousands, of students and spectators to the magic of flow arts. The ripple effect will continue as her students and collaborators share their passions and gifts. Kelly gave us her most creative self and inspired others to be their most creative selves. Kelly's impact on her communities in Lake Tahoe and Baja has been life-changing and expansive, leaving an imprint of her beauty and incredible devotion to her arts, passions, and her community on those she touched forever.
