My dad, Rowley, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 12th after battling melanoma skin cancer for over two years. This was a difficult journey that included immunotherapy infusions, radiation to the brain, surgeries, multiple trips to the emergency room and costly medications. 

He left behind his devoted wife Jenna, his two sons Andrew and me, his daughter-in-laws Annie & Crystal, and his favorites, grandsons Cole and Liam. 

My dad had planned to work many more years. However, during his battle with cancer, there were several month-long stretches of time that he was absent from his contract work, which caused my parents to tap into their retirement savings. To top it all off, because of extenuating circumstances, my mom's survivor benefits through Social Security won't start for another year.  

 My mom is, for the first time, facing her financial future without her husband. 

Many of you have asked how you can help my mom or my family during this season. Flowers or donating to a charity in honor of my dad are nice, but donating to GoFundMe is the most practical way that I can think of to help my mom.
