SHS Youth Crew and Garfield Middle School are partnering to raise funds to keep Monika Brejnak's memory alive. Monika, 14 years old, was a recent graduate of GMS and was a current student at GHS. The funds will be used to purchase and plant a tree by the middle school in her honor, along with a plaque and a bench also in her memory.  Leftover funds will be donated to the family.
Monika was a friendly student, who always had a smile on her face and a hello in her voice. Monika was known and described as the little girl with glasses. She was always seen at the school events and was always willing to lend a hand after the events.
Nothing can prepare us for a student passing. The most important thing that we can do during this difficult time is support one another, support our fellow students, and remember to cherish our friends and family every day.
