In Memory of Eduardo Arcia
Donación protegida
You may know Eduardo Arcia (“Guayo”) from his work in Engineering, specifically within the Data & Insights Team. His leadership, support and hard work touched and accompanied many lives ( across sites ) during his almost 8 years at Backcountry. There is no one who came across him that did not learn something or was deeply touched by his sweet personality.
I remember he loved to use the blackboard, and one day he explained to me with drawings of how the Data & Insights Team worked, he did an amazing job! , and from that moment, I could understand how passionate he was about what he did, and how much he believed in the vision of his Team.
He was famous for his seriousness, which was paired with a witty sense of humor ( he did not limit himself to use his intelligence while joking), he was the best male dancer we ever had in Costa Rica ( sorry guys...), always open to teach new salsa or bachata dance moves. For some Guayo was a mentor, a leader, for others his/her best friend, and for others, just a really cool guy to hang out with.
Thankfully, most of us had the chance to share with him in and outside of work, in Company events, climbing the Chirripo, dancing, visiting waterfalls, going to clubs, eating, traveling, eating more… he even dressed as Michael Jackson in a Christmas Party for choreography.
Unfortunately, our Guayito passed away on December 3rd, 2020. Guayo lived with his mother Lourdes Rodríguez Murillo, and he supported her financially. We have started a funeral fundraiser to raise donations to help her cover the cost of his funeral expenses. His family was not prepared for the high cost of a funeral, and during this difficult time we are reaching out to this amazing Herd for help.
