In loving memory of Alex Nitke

Support Matt Nitke and his two children, Ella, 12, and Eli, 9, as they grieve the loss of Alex, their beloved wife and mother, and do their best to move forward in the face of overwhelming pain and uncertainty.

Alexandria (Okrasinski) Nitke passed away on September 26, 2023, just weeks after receiving an unforeseen diagnosis of severe liver disease in mid-August. Her health rapidly deteriorated due to a number of serious complications, including peritonitis, sepsis, and lung and kidney failure. Despite the best efforts of her care team at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, and the constant love, hope and prayers of her family and friends, there was nothing more that could be done to save her. She was 35 years old.

A devoted wife and mother, Alex prioritized family and took great joy in spending time with them. She loved watching and supporting Ella at her dance competitions, for example, and Eli at his hockey tournaments, and she treasured her regular girls’ nights with her mom, Dawn Suprise.

Matt and Alex are both graduates of New London Senior High School. They made their home together in Greenville.

Now, Matt and the kids are facing a daunting road ahead, full of grief, change, and difficult decision-making as they try to pick up the pieces and establish new routines for daily life. Support and compassion from their community will go a long way, and will make a big impact. Any donations received will go directly to Matt, for use toward medical bills and other necessary family expenses.
