I cannot believe this is happening AGAIN.

Imogen is a poor, trans woman artist who has kicked meth AND benzo addiction, but has faced housing instability for most of her life. For the past ten years she has been homeless, and the times she has found housing, it has been unsafe, and at BEST, unstable. Last year she found a nice punk house to live in, only for the lease holders to alienate her and treat her like shit to the point she was forced to leave (I was present for a few of these instances and these chicks were so fucking mean for no reason, absolutely disgusting, transphobic behavior).

At the start of 2026 Imogen was able to move into an affordable room, but three of the five roommates (the only ones on the lease) all decided to move elsewhere. The landlord has refused all new potential tenants. So, unless some miracle happens, Imogen will be homeless again October first. You cannot imagine how hopeless this makes her feel.

This is a woman who have been part street level harm reduction services in Ottawa FOR A DECADE. She has done more for free than most of us will ever do for a salary. She is the real fucking deal.

So, to make things worse, her former roommates have levied all of the extra rent for September onto her and the other poor trans woman living in the house. This accounts for an extra $1000 that Imogen simply does not have.

To make things EVEN WORSE, Imogen's ODSP (Ontario disability) payments have been cut in half since the spring, so her monthly income has been abysmal most of the year. We have been fighting ODSP about this, as there were no grounds to slash her income like this, but they've been promising to deliver a "decision" for months now with no word.

She needs:

1) New affordable housing

2) Pay a huge amount of money she doesn't have by next month

$1500 is the absolute minimum she needs to survive the next two months, and this doesn't even fix her need for affordable, stable, safe housing in Ottawa. That's a whole other problem that we're dealing with day by day.

Your donations go directly towards saving a trans woman whose life work has gone directly to saving the lives of street addicts, artists, and trans people. Stop donating to supposed nonprofits where most of your money gets eaten up by salaries and admin costs. Give money DIRECTLY to the people who need it.

Imogen fucking needs us right now. I am on welfare and I am giving her all of my god damn money because I refuse to let another trans woman die, alright?
