Taking Care of Tara (and family)
Donation protected
My sister Tara was diagnosed with Stage 2B non small cell lung cancer this week. She's a 35 year old mother of three children (12,9,8). She's never smoked. The specific type of tumor is a neuroendocrine carcinoma. She has two of those. It is very rare and accounts for less than 1% of all lung cancers diagnosed annually.
She's fortunate to have insurance, but of course it doesn't pay all of the huge medical bills that have begun to accumulate. They also have travel expenses back and forth to Houston including hotels, meals, and gas.
She's having surgery to remove the tumors on December 9, 2014, and her recovery will be difficult and lengthy due to the nature of the surgery.
I've had many of my friends ask how they can help her and her family, and after discussing at length with my sister how we can help, any kind of financial assistance with all of these unexpected expenses would lighten the burden.
Thank you for sharing.
