I just want Izzy to be as happy and healthy as she's made me

My name is Eldon, and never thought I'd have to do this.

Two days ago my best friend IIzzy woke up with me as normal, but one side of her face was terribly swollen. I took a day off work and rushed her to the vet. They thought because of the speed of the swelling it was a sting/bite and probably not an abscess because she didn't have a fever.

Thinking I had the problem solved we went home, administered medicine and prepared for the next day.

The next day the swelling was worse. She still had no fever, but the swelling has spread from her cheek to her entire face, neck, eye, nose and lips.

The veterinarian found that she actually did have an abscess, and drained as much as they could hoping the meds would do the rest.

The problem is the placement. She may have to be opened up. The abscess is near her jugular, by the nerve center for her face and has a whole bunch of possible implications if they try to drain it blind. So I have to take her for emergency surgery if it starts to flare up again.

Here I am, 4:30 in the morning, checking on her again. Watching her start to flare up. She's only 2 years old, she's a gentle giant and my best friend. To say I'm panicking would be an understatement.

I've never wanted to make a gofundme in my life. Thankfully, I've never had to. I've always scraped by and still had a good life, fantastic friends and an incredible dog.

But this is one thing I dont think ill be able to "scrape by" from.

Her surgery will be expensive, and every donation will mean the world to me. And every dollar not spent on her will be forwarded to a local rescue/rescues, and if you have one you'd prefer your donation to go to if not used ill make sure to get it there
