My name is Kathleen Henderson Peterson. I currently live in Roswell, New Mexico but was born and raised in Rockport, Texas where my parents are lifetime residents. I have had so many people offer financial assistance to them this seemed to be the best way to collect it.
My parents lives have been forever changed by Hurricane Harvey.
The hurricane damaged the roof of their home, leveled their fence, took a storage building, uprooted several huge oak trees, and sunk their sail boat. Due to most of the damage being wind damage insurance will not be covering it. As they start to piece their lives back together they will need extra money for incidentals due to being unable to return home for an undetermined amount of time. The town of Rockport is expected to be without power for several weeks if not a month.
They need financial assistance to help cover the cost of being displaced from their home for a undetermined amount of time. There will be extra costs eating out, possible hotel costs, and gas and other travel costs. Once they are able to go back home there will be a roof and fence to replace and trees to haul off and water damage to repair inside the house. None of this insurance will cover.
The funds will be withdrawn by myself or my sister in Austin and then a check will be written or directly deposited into their bank account. Because they have been so affected by this hurricane they have limited computer access.
