Hello, my name is Mario Galvan, close friend to the LIA DEL MAR Family. Yesterday morning, June 19th, Hurricane "Erick" hit the coast of Lagunas de Chacahua, OAX in Mexico. Luckily, no one was hurt, people managed to find save shelter while the storm hit with winds reaching speeds of up to 205 km/h (128 mi/h). Unfortunately, those winds and rain, left local properties with heavy damage. Roofs, doors, windows, floors, water tanks and local infrastructure, completely destroyed. For many years, many of us have visited our dear friends at LIA DE MAR in Chacahua, an outstanding family business, that focuses 100% on accommodating people from across the planet at their property to ensure EVERYONE is looked after, and has an incredible experience while visiting. The damage at their property is extremely significant. Every single room / bungalow / bathroom Kitchen are inhabitable, not to mention their private space. This hurricane hit during the lowest season of the year, leaving the family financially helpless and unable to rebuild the damage. Naturally, in order to generate income the property needs to be functional again. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated and I'm here to answer any questions / concerns you may have. The funds will be used for the following:
- Roof Materials
- New Doors and wall panels
- New Windows
- Water Tanks, pumps and hoses
- Electrical cable
- Mattresses
- Food and beverage for the Family while everything is fixed.
Thank you all very much!!!
A personal message from Anita:
Hello girls and boys from the Lía del Mar house.
For those of you who don’t know me yet – I’m Anita, the owner of "Lía del Mar."
As some of you already know, a category 4 hurricane struck the Mexican coast, affecting all the residents of the island “Lagunas de Chacahua.”
Some of you may already know me and have visited my place, where I welcomed you warmly, cooking my dishes for you with love.
Today, I’m asking for your help so that I can rebuild my home – the home of those who have already visited us and shared moments with us at Lía del Mar, whether it was a story, a joke, or a cup of coffee.
My home was destroyed by Hurricane “Erick,” which left us devastated and with broken dreams.
The place that I built with my husband through years of hard work, dedication, and great effort was gone in a single night.
