For those of you who may not know me, my name is Kelly.

Labor Day weekend,On what was supposed to be the last weekend they had to enjoy with family at her, aunt and uncles cabin on the lake. We got news that my cousin, Sam, and her daughter’s 3 1/2-year-old golden retriever, Huck (Huckleberry), had become very ill. Sam decided to stay back and take Huck to the vet. They found what they thought was a large mass on his lung.

Sam decided to go ahead with a CT scan, to determine whether or not it was operable. To her relief, it was not a tumor and it was not necessary to operate!! He had a respiratory fungal infection.

They said with 24/7 hospitalization, while they treated the infection, he had an 80% survival rate.

As the week went on, Huck only weakened. By Friday, they said 50%.

Early Monday morning, they said goodbye to their best friend.

Sam is a single mom that has always worked hard to provide for her 9-year-old daughter, Parker. She needed to do what was necessary for their best friend to survive.

Needless to say, with all of the tests, CT scan, specialists, and round-the-clock hospitalization, they are looking at thousands of dollars, all the while mourning their best friend.

I’m asking for anyone that has anything to donate and help them out financially.
